The Kalusugan Coalition is a multidisciplinary collaboration dedicated to creating a unified voice
to improve the health of the Filipino American community in the New York/New Jersey area through network
and resource development, educational activities, research, community action, and advocacy.
We envision a healthy, unified Filipino American community whose rights and needs are met by a quality,
holistic healthcare system.
1: To expand outreach efforts and grow KC membership base by linking with other concerned individuals
and organizations.
2: To develop culturally and linguistically appropriate health education, services, and resources.
3: To sponsor activities to create awareness, engage in dialogue, and mobilize around health
issues of Filipinos.
4: To participate in health advocacy efforts
5: To build the capacity of the coalition through trainings on leadership development, fund development,
research, advocacy, and consensus building.
Kalusugan Coalition's inspiration for the logo is the Narra Tree. It is one of the national symbols of the Philippines. Read more about it here.
